About Our Programmes
The Africa Future Leaders Institute of Global Affairs (AFLIGA) is a pioneering leadership and development programme designed to equip Africa’s Youth and emerging leaders, entrepreneurs, policymakers, and professionals with the mindsets, skills, knowledge, and tools needed to drive transformative change across the continent. Through a blend of academic rigour, real-world application, and expert mentorship, this programme tackles the most pressing challenges and opportunities facing Africa today, providing participants with a unique mix of platforms to explore themes such as leadership, governance, entrepreneurship, Africa’s integration into the global economy, Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) and sustainable development.

Each week of the programme is anchored in a carefully curated thematic area that draws from global best practices and cutting-edge research, all contextualized for Africa’s distinct socio-economic and political realities. Participants will engage with complex issues such as Africa’s governance landscape, the implications of globalisation, the financing challenges of the African Union (AU), private sector development, gender and development, technology, continental and international security as well as the AfCFTA’s role in positioning Africa in the global trade arena.

The programme’s design emphasizes experiential learning through case studies, interactive discussions, and simulations inspired by Africa’s and other global leading academic institutions such as Harvard, Stanford, MIT and Oxford, in addition to leading policy think tanks and research institutes. Participants will acquire critical theoretical insights into the development challenges facing Africa and also be equipped with disruptive mindsets, actionable skills and strategies to address these issues in their own spheres of influence.
This holistic approach ensures that participants complete this programme with not only an in-depth understanding of the key drivers of African development but also practical solutions to implement in their leadership roles—whether in government, the private sector, or civil society.
